The number of required treatments:

There are several factors that can affect the quantity of treatments you will need, but generally after each treatment, you will notice a permanent decrease in the amount of hair that regrow on the treated area. Typically, 4 to 6 treatments are required to permanently reduce the amount of re-growing hairs depending on the targeted area and effectiveness of the treatments (Laser hair removal treatment typically is done in a sequence of sessions that take place in four to eight-week intervals).
The first appointment consists of a consultation with the laser specialist who will be performing the procedure. At this meeting, the patient will learn what to expect from the treatment and have the opportunity to ask questions about the laser hair removal process.

Safety:
The Soprano laser has provided permanent hair reduction for thousands of patients worldwide securely and effectively since approved by the FDA in 2005.
Most people find it very comfortable. While pain tolerance is subjective, many patients often describe the sensation as soothing as a “hot stone massage”.

Pre-Treatment:

   Avoid tanning for 1 month.

Avoid waxing, tweezing or depilatory use for 2 weeks.

Avoid using any tretinoin (Retin-A) type products, microdermabrasion or dermalplaning in the area for 5-7 days.

No Accutane for 6-12 months prior to treatment.

Shave the desired treatment area the night before laser Treatment.

No deodorant, creams, oils, perfumes, etc. on area prior to treatment.

Wear loose, comfortable clothing on the day of treatment, so as not to irritate the treatment area

Post-Treatment:

The areas treated with the laser may be red following treatment. This will generally fade within 2-3 days. The treated area can be washed normally with mild soap and warm (not hot) water. Wash the area gently with your fingertips. Use of a washcloth or other abrasive instrument is not recommended.

Cover the treated area with a sunscreen of SPF15 or higher and avoid sun exposure to the treated area for 4 to 6 weeks. No direct sun exposure for at least 2 weeks.

Avoid using any tretinoin (Retin-A) type products, microdermabrasion or dermalplaning in the area for 5-7 days. No deodorant or creams to treated area for 48 hours.

Minor crusting or scabbing of the treated area can occur following treatment. Do not rub or pick the scab. Wash gently with fingertips and mile soap. Apply an antibacterial ointment, 1% hydrocortisone or Aloe Vera to treated area if redness occurs.

Hair remaining in the follicle will extrude typically within 1-2 weeks after treatment. This will look like growth, but is simply the body’s way of eliminating the hair from the injured follicle. On the third day posy-treatment, you may shave or gently wash the area to help loosen hair that is still embedded in the follicles.

No experience until perifollicular edema (red bumps) resolves.

No Jacuzzi, Sauna or Steam bath until the skin is back to normal.
